Saint-Tropez is the perfect blend of glamour, laid-back beach life, and Provence’s famous rosé wines. What I love most is that, despite its reputation as one of Europe’s most glamorous summer destinations, it still feels like a Mediterranean fishing village at heart.
I usually come here in full holiday mode: beach mornings, long lunches at my favourite beach clubs, strolls around the harbour, and relaxed dinners with friends.
While Saint-Tropez is now synonymous with luxury and the European summer lifestyle, it remained a relatively quiet village until the 1950s, when artists, fashion insiders, and most notably Brigitte Bardot transformed it into one of the French Riviera’s most iconic destinations. Today, Saint-Tropez is all about lifestyle—sun, sea, socialising, and enjoying the best of the Mediterranean.
Part of its charm also lies beyond the village itself: Provence’s vineyards, olive groves, local markets, and some of the world’s most celebrated rosé wines.
Hotels I Love
Byblos Saint-Tropez
More than a hotel, Byblos is an institution. Since the 1960s, it has been a favourite among celebrities and the international jet set. I love its Mediterranean style, flower-filled courtyards, luxurious suites, and relaxed yet sophisticated atmosphere. Don’t miss Les Caves du Roy, home to some of the most legendary summer parties in Europe.
Cheval Blanc Saint-Tropez
One of the French Riviera’s most exclusive properties. Every room faces the sea, and the attention to detail is unmistakably LVMH. Highlights include the three-Michelin-starred La Vague d’Or by Chef Arnaud Donckele and the beautiful Guerlain Spa, which is often filled with familiar faces.
Hôtel de Paris Saint-Tropez
A chic and contemporary option just steps from Place des Lices and the harbour. Its rooftop pool, bar, and views over Saint-Tropez’s terracotta rooftops make it one of my favourite spots in town.
Iconic Beach Clubs
Club 55
The ultimate Saint-Tropez classic. A favourite of Brigitte Bardot in the 1950s, it remains effortlessly chic without feeling flashy. Think Provençal rosé, simple Mediterranean food, and long lunches by the sea.
Bagatelle Beach
A completely different energy. One of the liveliest beach clubs in Saint-Tropez, where lunches often turn into celebrations with DJs, champagne, dancing, and a crowd of models, influencers, and international guests.
La Réserve à la Plage
My aesthetic favourite. Designed by Philippe Starck, it perfectly balances bohemian style and sophistication. The neutral tones, natural materials, and beachfront setting make it ideal for a long lunch and a glass of rosé.
Restaurants I Recommend
One thing to know about Saint-Tropez: lunch is often the main event. The typical day revolves around the beach, a long meal, a little downtime, dinner, and then a social night out.
Le Girelier
A harbourfront classic specialising in seafood. Perfect for people-watching while enjoying Mediterranean cuisine overlooking the yachts.
L’Opéra Saint-Tropez
Dinner and entertainment combined. Live performances, music, and a lively atmosphere make it one of the most fun nights in town.
Dior des Lices
Part restaurant, part extension of the Dior universe. Set in one of the prettiest gardens in Saint-Tropez, it’s one of my favourite spots for brunch or lunch after shopping.

Why I Always Come Back
What I love most about Saint-Tropez is that behind all the glamour, it still has the soul of a Mediterranean village.
Maybe that’s why I keep returning. It manages to feel sophisticated without losing that simple summer feeling we all look for on holiday, the chance to slow down, switch off, and leave the heavy things behind for a little while.
