If there’s one fabric living in my suitcase right now, it’s linen. It travels well, it breathes in the heat, and honestly, it just looks expensive the moment you put it on. I’ve been wearing it on repeat this month.

The oversized Shirt is non negotiable

I’ve had a beige linen shirt from Toteme on rotation since June. Thrown over a bikini at lunch, tucked into denim for dinner, worn open over a slip dress at night. One piece, three outfits. That’s the kind of cost-per-wear I actually care about.

My Go-To Combinations

  • Linen trousers + a fitted tank — clean, easy, works from morning coffee to evening drinks
  • A linen co ord (I’m loving the sets from Matteau) for anything resort-adjacent
  • A midi linen dress + gold jewellery, my uniform for dinners out this month
  • Jean shorts + an oversized blazer, surprisingly good for travel days

This year I’ve moved away from crisp white linen (beautiful, but let’s be honest, a nightmare after one glass of rosé) and into warmer, more forgiving tones, sand, terracotta, sage green. They photograph beautifully in golden hour light and hide a multitude of sins.

Elevating It

Linen can read a little too “relaxed” if you’re not careful, so I always anchor it with something polished:

  • A structured bag (my Hermès or a Jacquemus Le Chiquito does the job)
  • Gold hoops or a statement cuff
  • A heeled sandal instead of a flat when I want to dress it up

The one mistake I made early on

Buying linen a size too small. It creases enough as it is — you want room to move, not fabric pulling at the seams by 2pm. Sizing up (or true to size, never down) is the actual secret.

Linen isn’t glamorous in the traditional sense, but that’s exactly why it works all summer, it looks effortless because it is!

And right now, that’s all I want from my wardrobe
